💡 What: Added a visual character counter (e.g., "150 / 500") to Input and Textarea components when a maxLength prop is provided. The counter is styled using existing design system tokens and is right-aligned below the input.

🎯 Why: The Contact form enforces strict character limits (e.g., 5000 for messages) but previously provided no feedback on usage, leading to potential user frustration. This micro-UX improvement makes the limits transparent.

Accessibility:

  • The counter is visually present for all users.
  • aria-hidden="true" is used on the counter to prevent redundant announcements for screen reader users, who already receive native maxLength notifications from the input element itself.

⚠️ Note: The counter is only displayed for controlled inputs (where value prop is defined). Uncontrolled inputs will not show the counter to avoid displaying incorrect static values (e.g., "0 / 100" while user types). This graceful degradation ensures correctness.
